About Us

On July 29, 2019, John M. Smith, the husband of Marty Smith and father of Nancy Binger (Chad), Mike Smith (Lisa) and Chris Smith (Amanda) passed away at the age of 72. John coached all of his children in many youth sports while also influencing many other community youth. After retiring from Fellowes Brands, he also coached for many years at Glenbard South High School as an assistant coach for football, baseball and basketball. He made a positive impact on every player he coached, caring about them as a person, just as much as an athlete. Coach Smith consistently donated money to the school to help athletes that were less fortunate and could not afford proper equipment to play. Wanting to continue his legacy, his family created a foundation to continue empowering youth athletes to have opportunities to be able to play the sports they love. The foundation raises money to help young athletes with team fees, purchasing equipment and college scholarships.
